Filipino talents Dolly de Leon and Jon Jon Briones are joining the cast of Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender for its upcoming seasons.
De Leon will portray the twin sisters Lo and Li, Fire Nation elders who serve as Princess Azula’s royal advisers. Briones is set to play Piandao, a master swordsman and a key member of the secret society White Lotus.
They join Filipino-Canadian actor Gordon Cormier, who plays Aang, the show’s lead character. The series premiered on February 22, 2024, and was renewed in March 2024 for its second and third seasons, which will conclude the story .
De Leon rose to international fame for her performance in Triangle of Sadness, which earned her Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations. Briones is best known for his roles in Ratched and Miss Saigon.
Production for Season 2 has wrapped, while filming for Season 3 is currently underway . No release dates have been announced.
