A recent survey by Social Weather Stations (SWS) and the Stratbase Group revealed that Filipinos want transparency, accountability, and action on pressing economic and social issues from their newly elected leaders following the 2025 midterm elections.
Conducted from May 2 to 6 with 1,800 registered voters and a ±2% margin of error, the survey found that 93% believe Vice President Sara Duterte should prioritize national interests, while 88% said she must address the impeachment charges and corruption allegations filed against her.
“Accountability is not an option—it is foundational to public trust,” said Stratbase president Dindo Manhit. “Leaders should respond to the people’s call for transparency and lead with integrity.”
The survey also revealed that 86% of respondents want Duterte to focus on delivering her platforms, 81% want her to carry out her duties without politicizing, and 74% urge her to stop criticizing the government.
Respondents also called for improvements in healthcare (84%), food security (81%), infrastructure (80%), climate resilience (70%), national security in the West Philippine Sea (67%), and inflation control (62%)—key areas they expect President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration to address.
