State-run Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) teamed up with real estate developer AMA Land Inc. to explore new opportunities for inclusive communities in New Clark City.
BCDA president and chief executive Joshua Bingcang and AMA Land chairman emeritus Amable Aguiluz V signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Friday to jointly study the feasibility of an affordable housing project in the city.
The partnership aims to leverage the strengths of both organizations to develop sustainable, inclusive communities, aligning with their shared commitment to environmental stewardship and long-term economic growth.
“Together, we will explore how to design homes that are not just affordable, but well-connected, climate-resilient, and empowering; homes that allow working families to live near jobs, education, and opportunity,” Bingcang said.
Under the MOU, AMA Land will provide its technical expertise, leading assessments, feasibility studies, and business case development. The company will also offer recommendations focused on sustainability, accessibility, and inclusivity to ensure the project supports a diverse range of housing options for various income levels and family sizes.
“The collaboration between BCDA and AMALI is aimed at tackling the pressing issues of housing shortage and climate change. Our goal is to design and develop affordable housing projects and sustainable communities within New Clark City,” said Aguiluz, who also serves as the Special Envoy to Japan for Trade and Investments.
The development of affordable housing in New Clark City supports the Marcos administration’s goal of closing the country’s housing gap and aligns with the Philippine Development Plan 2023–2028, particularly its strategy to build livable communities.
