Engineering fabricator Atlantic, Gulf & Pacific Company of Manila Inc. (AG&P) expressed interest in providing crucial support services for the Philippines’ burgeoning offshore wind (OSW) sector.
AG&P, in a letter of commitment to the Department of Energy (DOE) dated May 23, 2025, outlined its proposed services, which include port infrastructure, logistics, fabrication, and workforce development to accelerate the deployment of OSW projects.
DOE Undersecretary Giovanni Carlo Bacordo, who oversees port development for offshore wind, lauded AG&P’s proactive engagement and strong commitment.
“The private sector plays a vital role in building the infrastructure backbone necessary for this kind of project, and AG&P’s demonstrated capabilities are instrumental in accelerating the realization of the Philippines’ renewable energy targets,” Bacordo said.
Bacordo visited AG&P’s facility in Bauan, Batangas, on June 2, 2025 to assess the company’s operational readiness and technical capabilities for supporting large-scale OSW projects. The Philippines aims to complete its first OSW project by 2030.
AG&P reiterated its long-term commitment to the Philippines’ OSW roadmap and its contribution to the nation’s broader goals of energy security, environmental sustainability, and inclusive economic growth.
Bacordo was informed of AG&P’s comprehensive capabilities for supporting offshore wind projects. The company presented its end-to-end services, which encompass providing port infrastructure for the pre-assembly, staging, and integration of OSW components, the fabrication of foundations and floating platforms, and the allocation of operational space and specialized facilities for large-scale equipment and vessels.
AG&P also detailed its capacity to deliver operations and maintenance (O&M) services, including berth and logistics support. Furthermore, the company emphasized its commitment to workforce development through programs designed to train and upskill local labor for the OSW industry.
