The Quezon City local government has earned 11 nominations at the 19th University of the Philippines Los Baños Gandingan Awards, marking its debut participation in the prestigious communication awards organized by the UP Community Broadcasters’ Society.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to the UP Gandingan Awards 2025 for recognizing our efforts in promoting sustainability, history, gender equality, and the beauty of Quezon City,” said Mayor Joy Belmonte, who is also a nominee for Gandingan ng Kalikasan for her work in advancing a green and livable city.

The city’s Public Affairs and Information Services Department (PAISD) led the submission of entries, reflecting Quezon City’s commitment to transparency, citizen engagement, and relevant communication, according to Belmonte.

Quezon City is competing in key categories, including Gandingan ng Kasaysayan for its historical documentary “QC: The Birthplace of Our Nation” with Prof. Xiao Chua, and Gandingan ng Kaunlaran for its official social media platform. PAISD programs are also nominated in the General and Core Awards for their online videos, educational content, and youth-oriented reports.

The awards ceremony will be held at the D.L. Umali Hall, UPLB, on April 26.
