PhilHealth, SSS meet to strengthen ties

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) on Wednesday welcomed officials from the Social Security System (SSS) in a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening collaboration on social protection programs for Filipino workers and their families.

SSS president and CEO Robert Joseph De Claro met with acting PhilHealth chief Dr. Edwin Mercado to explore future partnerships, with a focus on improving service delivery and access to benefits.

Key discussions included enabling registration for PhilHealth’s Konsulta program through the SSS online portal and unifying member data via the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) to streamline services and ensure consistent, reliable information across agencies.

The two institutions also committed to enhancing cooperation with other key players such as Pag-IBIG and the Government Service Insurance System under the umbrella of the Philippine Social Security Association (PhilSSA), where both are active members.

“We look forward to stronger linkage and partnership with the SSS and PhilSSA, in keeping with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s call to ensure access and availability of social protection services anywhere in the country,” PhilHealth said.
