Noveleta octogenarians, nonagenarians get cash

NOVELETA, CAVITE—Senior citizens celebrating their 80th, 85th, 90th, and 95th birthdays were honored with cash gifts from the local government during a distribution event held at the New Noveleta Municipal Hall on Monday.

Mayor Dino Chua, together with Board Member Davey Chua, Office of Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA) head Donato Alvarez, and local DSWD chief Jinky Sidocon, led the distribution of ₱10,000 to each eligible senior. The program aims to recognize and support the town’s octogenarians and nonagenarians.

Chua encouraged senior citizens aged 80 and above to coordinate with their Barangay Senior Citizen Presidents to avail of this government benefit.

A total of 26 seniors received the cash gifts in the first batch. An additional 25 recipients are scheduled to receive theirs in the second batch, bringing the total to 51 beneficiaries. Meanwhile, a centenarian from one of Noveleta’s barangays is set to receive ₱100,000 from the national government on April 28.
