Megan, one of the members of global girl group Katseye, has publicly come out as bisexual, making her the second member of the group to share her sexual identity.
On June 6, during a livestream in Weverse with fellow member Lara, Megan greeted the former with a “Happy Pride Month.”
Lara replied with, “Oh, thank you, Megan. You, too.”
Megan laughed and asked Lara if she should do it.
“I’m coming out. I’m bisexual,” Megan said, celebrating on camera as Lara cheered her.
The moment was met with supportive messages from fans across social media platforms. Megan’s revelation follows Lara’s own coming out in March, when the 20-year-old shared on Weverse that she identifies as gay.
In her post, Lara wrote about having known her identity from a young age but said she was afraid it would affect her chances of debuting in the highly competitive K-pop industry.
“I was so scared, and I’m also brown, which adds another layer. Now I feel so proud of it and no shame at all,” she said.
Katseye debuted in June 2024 as the winners of “The Debut: Dream Academy,” a global audition program. The final lineup includes Lara, Megan, Daniela, Manon, Sophia, and Yoonchae.
