Alden Richards is stepping behind the camera for the first time with his directorial debut, “Out of Order,” set to premiere at the 3rd Da Nang Asian Film Festival in Vietnam from June 29 to July 5.
Credited under his real name, Richard R. Faulkerson Jr., Richards also stars in the film as a lawyer defending his estranged father, portrayed by Nonie Buencamino, who is accused of murder. Heaven Peralejo plays the public prosecutor and Richards’ ex-girlfriend.
The film’s ensemble cast includes Soliman Cruz, Andrea del Rosario, Joyce Ching, Nicco Manalo, Francine Garcia, and Yayo Aguila.

“Out of Order” is competing in the festival’s Asian In-Competition Films category, alongside entries from Mongolia, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, and South Korea.
Richards co-wrote the screenplay with Ryan Evangelista, Randy Villanueva, and Atty. Karen Lustica. The film is produced by Viva Films, Studio Viva, Vince Pajaro Mariano, and Ferdinand D. Lapuz.
This marks Richards’ first film since the box-office hit “Hello, Love, Again” (2024), and follows his role as executive producer of “Five Breakups and a Romance” (2023).
