Anti-fake news campaign triumphs at Asia Pacific Broadcasting+Awards

GMA Network Inc.’s Panata Kontra-Fake News initiative was awarded Best Multi-Platform Campaign at the Asia Pacific Broadcasting+ Awards, held at Crowne Plaza Changi Airport in Singapore.

Launched on National Press Freedom Day 2024, Panata Kontra-Fake News is a multi-sectoral effort to combat disinformation by promoting media literacy, fact-checking, and critical thinking among Filipinos. The campaign, led by GMA Integrated News, has partnered with key organizations across media, education, and technology to amplify its reach.

The initiative has mobilized nearly 60 partner organizations through a landmark memorandum of agreement (MOA) signing and engaged over 12,000 students nationwide via the GMA Masterclass: Eleksyon 2025 “Dapat Totoo” Series. Through TV, radio, and digital platforms, the campaign has delivered fact-checking reports, interactive content, and immersive storytelling to millions of Filipinos.

The Asia Pacific Broadcasting+ Awards honors innovation and excellence in broadcasting and digital media across the region. GMA Integrated News and its partners were recognized for their impactful multi-platform approach in reshaping media literacy and countering disinformation.
