Actress Yassi Pressman faced criticism online after sharing photos of herself voting alongside her boyfriend, Camarines Sur Gov. Luigi Villafuerte, during Monday’s midterm elections.
The actress shared a series of images on Instagram showing the couple voting inside their polling precinct. She accompanied the post with a caption expressing support for Villafuerte, who is running for representative of Camarines Sur’s Second District.
“I’ve seen firsthand your hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment you give to your people,” she wrote.
While some fans viewed the post as a genuine gesture, others found it out of touch, calling the images overly staged and more fit for a prenuptial shoot than a civic activity.
“Akala ko prenup shoot, ‘yun pala eleksyon,” one comment read.
Some users questioned the tone and timing of the post, pointing out that the images seemed more focused on aesthetic appeal than promoting to vote.
