Former Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition housemates Kira Balinger and Emilio Daez said they are ready to pursue more ambitious roles after their time on the reality show.

Balinger and Daez spoke to the entertainment media during Star Magic’s monthly Spotlight press conference held May 2 at Coffee Project, Wil Tower in Quezon City.
Balinger, previously seen in Darna, Maple Leaf Dreams, and Chances Are, You and I, said the show helped her overcome her introversion.
“Before going into PBB, I had a hard time socializing. I had a very hard time socializing with people my age,” she admitted. “In PBB, na-survive ko ‘yon, and I know that I have good people as my friends. In other words, sobrang nag-improve po ‘yong social skills ko.”
Known as the “Hopeful Belle ng Cavite,” she added that her experience in the PBB house allowed her to grow at her own pace.
“Everything played out exactly how it was supposed to. It may have taken me longer than the others to open up, but I’m super proud of my experience,” the 24-year-old actress said. “I’m happy with my journey inside the house, and I don’t think there’s anything I would like to redo.”
Daez, who appeared in Pamilya Sagrado with Piolo Pascual and Kyle Echarri prior to entering the house, said he used his time in isolation to develop a deeper understanding of himself.
“One of my goals was to become a better actor. I believe that to act well, you have to understand yourself first,” Daez related.
The actor, dubbed “Mr. Bankable Achiever ng Pasig City,” is set to star in Love At First Spike, an upcoming iWantTFC series in which he plays the lead role.
Both Balinger and Daez expressed interest in taking on action-oriented projects. Daez said he would like to collaborate with Balinger in an action series, while Balinger mentioned Dyesebel and Bagani as dream roles.
“For the longest time, I’ve always been doing the bida roles—the good girl roles, the rich girl—so I really want to try kontrabida naman,” Balinger added. “’Yon, at saka ano… nahihiya ako sabihin—pero, Dyesebel. Dyesebel talaga. ‘Yon yung isa sa mga dream roles ko.”
Now outside the PBB house, both artists said they are focused on proving themselves. “I really just want to work hard and give it everything,” Daez said. “We’re both here because we love acting, and we’re ready to show what we’ve got.”
Balinger added, “I know I still have so much to learn, but I’m excited. PBB taught me that I’m stronger than I thought.”
