Senatorial candidate Camille Villar got the support of political leaders in Davao Occidental on Thursday.
Villar saw a surge of support from Mindanao weeks after she got the backing of Vice President Sara Duterte.
Davao Occidental lone representative Claude Bautista and DUMPER Partylist Rep. Claudine Diana Bautista-Lim endorsed Villar’s senatorial bid during a meet and greet with multi-sectoral groups at Tabat Gym in Malita.
Speaking before barangay officials, solo parents, tricycle drivers and operators, senior citizens and the youth, the lawmaker vowed to work for legislation and projects focused on her advocacies such as women empowerment, housing, education, mental health, gender equality, financial literacy, and the promotion of small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs).
She also expressed gratitude for their support.
“Sa panahon ngayon, sa panahon na maraming hinaharap na batikos, malaking bagay po ng inyong pinakitang suporta, ang inyong mainit na pagtanggap at pagmamahal na ipinakita n’yo po ngayong hapon sa akin,” Villar said.
