“Superman” stars David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan, along with director James Gunn and producer Peter Safran, arrived in Manila yesterday as part of the “Superman World Tour” to promote the upcoming action film.
The team was welcomed by Filipino fans at the Bridgetowne Open Grounds in Pasig City, where they made a special appearance. Director Frasco Mortiz shared a video reel of Corenswet and Gunn meeting fans on social media.
Ahead of the event, a Look Up Drone Show was held Wednesday night at the same venue to build excitement for the film.
“Superman” is the first feature film under the newly-launched DC Studios, and is set for release on July 9. The movie is directed by Gunn, who previously helmed all three “Guardians of the Galaxy” films.
“It’s a story about humanity, about what it means to be a hero in a world that doesn’t always make it easy to be one,” Gunn said.
“I can’t wait for you to see it. The heart, the action, and the incredible performances from David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult and the entire cast,“ he added.
Joining the lead stars are Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Neva Howell.
