Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Don Artes on Friday met with representatives from Globe Telecom to discuss the next steps for the No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP).
Proposed measures include creating an MMDA account, developing both an automated and a manual website system, and establishing a database that will be connected to the data system of the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
These efforts aim to enhance the MMDA’s reimplementation of the NCAP, which has been enforced since May 26.
The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) earlier announced that motorists will soon be able to check their traffic violations, including those related to the NCAP, and pay fines using the eGovPH app.
Information and Communications Technology Undersecretary David Almirol Jr. mentioned that they are working closely with the MMDA to integrate the NCAP violations monitoring system into the eGovPH app. Once fully integrated, users will receive notifications about their violations, complete with supporting photos and videos from the MMDA.
Almirol added that they are integrating other traffic violation monitoring systems, such as the MMDA’s single ticketing system platform and the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS), with the eGovPH app.
The e-government data exchange (eGovDX) platform will likewise connect these various systems, making it easier for motorists to monitor their status.
