Housing czar Jose Ramon Aliling wants the key shelter agencies of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) to execute pro-poor projects under the expanded Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) program.
Aliling instructed the National Housing Authority to formulate and invigorate housing programs for the poorest of the poor, and the Social Housing Finance Corp. (SHFC) to revive and improve its community mortgage program (CMP).
“More than just inclusive, we must ensure that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s expanded 4PH will be pro-poor,” the DHSUD emphasized.
“Our poor fellowmen and those without their own home must be on top of our list for the expanded 4PH,” he added.
President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. issued Executive Order No. 34 of 2023 to pave the way for the 4PH implementation.
The SHFC assists organized associations of low-income groups to acquire and develop a private land or unit through loans.
The NHA implements housing programs for the informal settler families along danger zones, and those affected by government projects and the Supreme Court’s mandamus to clean up Manila Bay.
“We must come up with specific projects intended for the poorest of the poor, and we shall implement them the soonest,” Aliling said.
