Two trailblazing officers of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) were honored among this year’s 10 recipients of the prestigious Outstanding Women in Law Enforcement and National Security (OWLENS) Award.
PAF spokesperson Col. Ma Consuelo Castillo and LtCol. Jean Bibon of the 15th Strike Wing received the accolade for their exemplary contributions to peace, security, and national development.
The awarding ceremony took place on May 26 at the Rizal Hall of the Quezon City Sports Club.
Among the distinguished attendees was PAF Vice Commander MGen. Aristotle Gonzalez, who expressed pride in the remarkable achievements of the two officers.
The event was also graced by Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) Chairperson Ermelita V. Valdeavilla, who commended the recipients for their dedication and leadership in a field traditionally dominated by men.
The OWLENS Award, organized by Republic Defenders, recognizes women in uniform and public service for their outstanding professionalism, leadership, and commitment to national security and law enforcement.
“The PAF continues to take pride in its personnel and remains steadfast in fostering a culture of excellence, integrity, and gender inclusivity across all ranks and missions,” PAF said.
