The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is set to fully implement its digital platform for the delivery of driver’s licenses and license plates nationwide soon.
LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II said the innovation called ‘LTOTracker’ has gained positive feedback from users since the start of its live testing on April 26.
“We are also receiving positive feedback from the users. Some of them saying that they are really feeling the changes under Bagong Pilipinas, particularly on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s digitalization of government services,” Mendoza said.
“The success of the live testing and the positive feedback are indications that the LTOTracker is ready for nationwide deployment,” he added.
The LTOTracker is a digital platform developed by LTO for its clients to pursue digitalization of government services for the convenience of the general public.
Since its live testing in April, thousands of driver’s licenses and license plates had been delivered right at the doorsteps of the owners, according to the LTO chief.
In Metro Manila, the implementation of the LTOTracker is now in full blast.
The LTOTracker provides access to track the status of a driver’s license or a motor vehicle plate in real-time and even have it delivered through an accredited courier service provider.
Since 2014, LTO was flooded with backlogs on motorcycle and four-wheel vehicle license plates due to various factors.
The LTO experienced a driver’s license card problem in 2023, forcing the agency to print the driver’s license on papers for shortage of plastic cards.
“To address problems with driver’s license cards and plate numbers, the LTO developed the LTOTracker. This online platform allows clients to conveniently check the availability and location of their license cards and plates,” Mendoza said.
