LTFRB coordinates insurance claims for bus crash victims

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Friday directed the Passenger Accident Management and Insurance Agency (PAMI) to immediately process and release insurance claims for victims of a multi-vehicle crash involving a Dagupan Bus unit operated by Solid North, which resulted in multiple deaths and injuries.

“I instructed PAMI to immediately address the needs of those who are involved in the road crash,” LTFRB chief Teofilo Guadiz III said. “They should start identifying the dead bodies and indemnify the families,” he added.

The maximum insurance coverage is P400,000 for each bus passenger involved in the accident. For non-passengers, including pedestrians or occupants of other vehicles affected by the crash, the maximum indemnity is P200,000.

The LTFRB also implemented a preventive suspension order from the Department of Transportation effective immediately to halt the operations of 15 public utility buses of Solid North under Case No. CO-EB-2025-04-058 for a period of 30 days.
