THE Philippine National Police – Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) has clarified that a viral video showing the arrest of one of its members for alleged extortion is an old and recycled issue dating back to 2018.
The PNP-HPG confirmed that the incident was an old issue that
took place way back in 2018 during an entrapment operation in Pasay
City.

The officer involved was arrested by his fellow policemen following complaints of alleged extortion and was susequently dismissed from the service effective September 25, 2019.
The Highway Patrol Group emphasized that the viral video was a recycled “old hat” meant to mislead the public.
