DOTr launches home delivery of licenses, plates

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is set to launch a home delivery service for license plates and driver’s licenses using new digital technology, in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to bring government services closer to the people.

Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II said the service, called LTOTracker, will allow clients to track their documents in real time and have them delivered straight to their doorsteps via accredited courier services.

Secretary Vince Dizon hailed the LTOTracker as a “game-changing innovation,” saying it will eliminate the long queues and delays traditionally associated with Land Transportation Office (LTO) transactions. While the new service will prioritize digital delivery, clients will still have the option to pick up their documents personally if they prefer.

Mendoza explained that the Motor Vehicle Plate and Driver’s License Delivery Services also aim to resolve the country’s long-standing backlog of motor vehicle plates dating back to 2014.

Through the LTOTracker website, users can check the status of their plates, update delivery details, and pre-book for home delivery, with real-time tracking available.

To ensure the service’s efficiency, the LTO has accredited nine courier providers to handle deliveries nationwide, reaching even the most remote areas. Mendoza emphasized that this move not only modernizes LTO processes but also restores public trust and meets the digitalization goals set by the President.
