VinFast reveals PH expansion program beyond VF6 launch

Amid a record-breaking MIAS that saw 170,900 visitors, VinFast marked its first appearance since entering the Philippine market last year. The highlight at their bustling booth was the official introduction of the VF 6, expanding their local lineup which includes the VF 3, VF 5, VF 7, and VF 9. Positioned competitively, the VF 6 starts at PHP 1.419 million for the Eco trim and PHP 1.610 million for the Plus, backed by a class-leading seven-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty.

Beyond the vehicle reveal, VinFast addressed potential buyer hesitations head-on with a strategic approach focusing on key ownership concerns:

• Charging: VinFast is offering free public charging at its stations through 2027, partnering with V-GREEN to significantly boost the charging infrastructure with a target of 15,000 new ports this year alone, a substantial increase from the current 900+ public stations.

• Resale Value: A pioneering buyback program guarantees up to 90% of the vehicle’s original price, depending on ownership duration, applicable across their entire model range to build customer confidence.

• Financing: Collaborations with major local banks, BDO and EastWest, aim to provide more accessible and flexible financing options, tackling the often-cited barrier of high upfront EV costs.

VinFast is rapidly expanding its physical footprint through six distributor partnerships, with plans for over 60 new showrooms nationwide within the year. Their integrated strategy signals a clear intent to not just sell EVs, but to build an ecosystem that mitigates the perceived risks of switching to electric, potentially swaying more Filipino drivers as car prices rise and fuel costs remain volatile.
