Timeless basics get a seasonal update

The T-shirt makes a confident return as the go-to piece in everyday wardrobes, favored for its comfort, versatility, and ease. This season, Uniqlo and British designer Anya Hindmarch revisit the casual essential with their Spring/Summer 2025 “T-Shirt Shop” collection, offering new takes on a garment worn by many all year round.

Unveiled during an exclusive preview on May 22 at the Uniqlo Manila Global Flagship Store in Makati, the collection features five T-shirt styles, each designed with a specific fit and function in mind.

The pieces range from sleeveless tanks to looser, boxier cuts meant for layering or warm-weather wear.

“This summer, we focused on one of the most essential items we wear—not just in summer, but all year round: the T-shirt,” said Uniqlo Philippines head of PR and Sustainability Reichelle Vergara.

“With this partnership, we wanted to show how everyday basics can be elevated through quality and detail.”

The pieces reflect Hindmarch’s design language, incorporating details like zigzag stitches, inside-out hems, and her recognizable eye motif.

The designs also include subtle stitched phrases on sleeves and hems.

Host and content creator Dani Mortel, who modeled the tank top during the event, pointed out how the fit felt both modern and wearable.

“It’s modest but modern. You can throw a jacket over it, layer it, or wear it as is. And you can pair it with just about anything.”

The collection stays within a palette of neutral tones—white, black, gray, and olive—allowing the shirts to match with existing wardrobe items.

Even the kids’ shirt, available in smaller sizes and playful colors, caught the attention of petite adult shoppers looking for casual, well-fitting options.

Also part of the launch are two washable pouches, offered in large and small sizes, designed for travel or everyday use.

The collection became available in stores and online on May 23.
