UK-based sports fashion retailer JD Sports will open its first stores in the Philippines through a partnership with the country’s leading specialty retailer, SSI Group Inc.
The expansion will begin with two locations: one at SM Mall of Asia set to open in June, and another at Glorietta in July.
JD Sports, a global multi-brand retailer, is known for its focus on sneaker culture and streetwear, offering exclusive footwear, apparel, and accessories from major sportswear brands. The company operates over 4,800 stores worldwide as of May 2025.

“This franchise agreement is a further milestone in our ‘JD Brand First’ plan,” said Hilton Seskin, CEO of JD Sports Fashion APAC. He said the deal shows the retailer’s intent to grow further in Southeast Asia.
Anthony Huang, president of SSI Group, said JD’s entry into the country aligns with evolving consumer preferences for athleisure and trend-driven sportswear.
“At SSI Group, our mission has always been to bring the world’s best brands to Filipino consumers, and we are proud to introduce JD to the Philippines. As a global leader in sports fashion, JD perfectly aligns with the evolving lifestyle and style preferences of today’s market,” Huang said.
JD Sports will be distributed in the Philippines exclusively by SSI Group.
