Kultura’s Burda at Habi pop-up is a timely reminder that traditional Filipino clothing—like the barong and Filipiniana—can still be relevant and practical today. In a time when trends change fast and mass-produced clothes dominate the market, this series puts the focus back on local craftsmanship and slow fashion.
Launching on May 5 at Kultura in SM Mall of Asia, the event puts the work of Filipino artisans at the center, featuring embroidery, handwoven fabrics, and updated silhouettes. The goal is to make heritage pieces practical for today. Whether for formal events or everyday wear, the collection shows that tradition can remain part of modern life.

What makes this pop-up worth visiting is its variety. Kultura brings together in-house brands like Raffaella and EN Barong Filipino, alongside guest designers such as Binibini Marikit, Azucar, and Pamanna Jewellery. These pieces aren’t just decorative—they’re wearable, well-made, and built to last.

The event will also feature Kultura ambassador Marian Rivera at the official launch on May 8. She brings a familiar face to the campaign and represents a generation of Filipinos who are finding new ways to wear traditional clothing. There’s also a meet-and-greet for those who purchase during the launch period, but the focus remains on the clothes and the people who make them.

The pop-up continues in other SM branches—Baguio, Sta. Rosa, Iloilo, and Southmall—from May 29 to June 12. These events aim to bring heritage fashion to more people outside Metro Manila while supporting the local makers behind the designs.

Burda at Habi is a practical approach to preserving culture through everyday style. It shows that honoring tradition doesn’t have to be complicated—and that local fashion still has something valuable to offer.
