The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) is investigating the cold-blooded shooting of a 63-year-old employee of the House of Representatives during the birthday party of his daughter in Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City on Sunday.
Two unidentified men broke into the venue of the celebration inside a village at around 2:55 p.m. and shot the victim at close range, according to the initial probe by the authorities.
The assailants then boarded a motorcycle and even fired at the subdivision’s security guard while fleeing the crime scene.
The victim was rushed to the Far Eastern University-Nicanor Reyes Memorial Foundation Hospital in Fairview, but was later declared dead on arrival by an attending physician.
The QCPD on Monday encouraged citizens who have any information about the incident and its perpetrators to come forward and cooperate with the authorities.
A special investigation team was created to identify and arrest the suspects.
Eyewitnesses are being interviewed, and all leads are actively pursued at the moment, the QCPD said.
