ILOILO CITY – Casual employees at Iloilo City Hall, including job hires and contract-of-service workers, will soon receive a P130-increase in their daily wages, raising their pay from P450 to P580.
Mayor-elect Raisa Treñas Chu made the announcement during an interview with the media on World Environment Day, June 5.
The pay adjustment is expected to take effect in August.
“This is not just about increasing wages—it’s about promoting better access to healthcare for our workers,” Treñas Chu said.
She explained that the increase is part of her health-centered advocacy, with a portion of the wage hike earmarked for employees’ PhilHealth contributions.
In the same interview, the incoming mayor confirmed that the second tranche of the Salary Standardization Law (SSL) 6 for permanent and regular employees of the city government will be implemented starting in August.
Furthermore, Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) coverage for regular employees is being processed, in coordination with the Resource Employees Association of City Hall (REACH).
