Cavite province logs 376% rise in dengue

The Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit of the Provincial Health Office in Trece Martires City, Cavite has reported a sharp rise in dengue cases across the province from January 1 to May 10, 2025.

A total of 5,168 cases were recorded so far, marking a dramatic 376-percent increase compared to only 1,085 cases during the same period last year. Seventeen deaths have been confirmed as a result of the outbreak.

Based on a report by provincial health officer Dr. Nelson Soriano, one percent of the total cases were classified as severe, while 63 percent or 3,262 cases showed warning signs. The remaining 36 percent (1,852 cases) had no warning signs.

Bacoor City emerged as the most affected area, accounting for 718 cases or 14 percent of the total, followed by Dasmariñas City with 667 cases and General Trias City with 619.
