Two male college students, last seen drinking in Tagum City, were found dead in a grassy area in Asuncion, Davao del Norte on the morning of May 6. Authorities believe they died in a vehicular accident.
Major Faith Tirador of the Davao del Norte Police identified the victims as James Diansay Magapang and Franklein Roluna Lasaca, both 21 and residents of Barangay Calian, Kapalong. Their bodies were already in a state of decomposition when discovered in Purok 3, Barangay Buclad.
A passing motorist, Kevin Dulao, alerted police after spotting the bodies. Asuncion police responded and found a wrecked gray Honda Beat motorcycle near the scene.
Investigation showed the two had left a bar around 4 a.m. on May 3. Days later, their bodies were recovered, suggesting they may have crashed on their way home.
Separately, police also responded to a shooting incident in Carmen on Tuesday. A detailed report is expected once the investigation is complete.
