More than 2,000 personnel have been deployed across Davao del Norte to ensure public safety during the national and local elections on May 12, according to Provincial Director Col. Alexander Serrano.
A total of 2,099 security forces will be stationed at various voting precincts—1,410 from the Philippine National Police, 699 from the Philippine Army, and 14 from the Philippine Coast Guard.
The deployment was marked by a send-off ceremony on Monday. These personnel will work closely with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to maintain peace and order during election day.
“We aim to ensure a safe and sound election,” Serrano said, emphasizing the importance of coordinated efforts.
Provincial Election Officer Norliza Mamukid thanked the security forces for their commitment, urging everyone to act with integrity and professionalism in serving the democratic process.
