Senior citizens of Manila, numbering about 200,000 will receive a 100-percent increase in their month allowance from the city government for the first quarter of the year.
Mayor Honey Lacuna announced that the distribution of the city’s senior citizens allowance amounting to a total of P3,000 each for the months of from January to March, will be made through a cash payout to be carried out by the barangays.
Unlike in the past administration where getting the allowances was a bit complicated for the elderlies, Lacuna said the payout process this time around will be a lot faster and hassle-free.
“Starting this month, our seniors will no longer have difficulties receiving their allowance. They can get it at the barangay halls. I fully trust our barangay partners in this,” Lacuna said.
