Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas is set to bring its powerhouse Senate slate to Batangas on May 3, launching a major show of force in one of the country’s most strategic and hard-fought political arenas ahead of the 2025 midterm elections.
Batangas, the seventh most vote-rich province in the Philippines with 1,958,794 registered voters, played a crucial role in the 2022 elections, delivering 719,492 votes for President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. compared to 655,811 votes for his nearest rival.
The province’s fiercely competitive political landscape makes it a must-win for any coalition seeking national dominance.
With a historic 87.26 percent voter turnout in 2022, Batangas is expected to be a major arena for voter mobilization and political momentum in the midterm polls.
Alyansa campaign manager and Navotas City Rep. Toby Tiangco said Batangas represents more than numbers, as it embodies political energy and leadership that can sway the national balance.
“Batangas has always been a province that sets the tone for elections. Its people are discerning, dynamic and decisive. Alyansa is here to match that spirit with experience, action and a clear plan for a stronger Bagong Pilipinas,” Tiangco said.
The Alyansa slate includes former Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos, Makati City Mayor Abby Binay, Senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Senator Pia Cayetano, former Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, Senator Lito Lapid, former Senator Manny Pacquiao, former Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, Senate Majority Leader Francis “Tol” Tolentino, ACT-CIS Representative and former Social Welfare Secretary Erwin Tulfo, and Deputy Speaker Camille Villar.
In Batangas, Alyansa is expected to engage voters on key issues including disaster resilience, agricultural modernization, rural healthcare, infrastructure upgrades and expanded economic opportunities.
Tiangco said Alyansa’s vision complements the Bagong Pilipinas agenda of the Marcos administration, aimed at sustaining growth, stability and good governance nationwide.
“Our candidates offer more than promises. They offer experience, action and a shared vision of a better future for Batangas and the entire country,” he said.
The Batangas sortie is part of Alyansa’s province-by-province strategy to rally grassroots support and build unstoppable momentum as the campaign enters its critical final stretch.
