Emperador budgets P4b to boost whisky business

Emperador Inc. said it plans to spend P4 billion in capital expenditures for 2025 as it expects the whiskey business to bounce back in 2026 after a period of global slowdown.

“We believe that eventually the Scotch whisky business will return to growth. We are hoping that by next year, starting 2026, there should be a resurgence and a rebound back to regular consumption,” Emperador president and chief executive Winston Co said during the company’s annual stockholders meeting Monday.

The bulk of this year’s capital expenditures will be allotted for its whisky business, primarily for the ongoing expansion of its Dalmore distillery, which is set to be completed in the second half of this year.

“We are almost at the completion of the Dalmore distillery expansion in Alness, Scotland. This is envisioned to double the brand’s production capacity while also providing a new visitor experience,” Co said.
