AirAsia Philippines on Wednesday said it carried nearly three million passengers to date this year across its domestic and international network.
The airline also registered a strong load factor performance at 85 percent, with Puerto Princesa emerging as the top domestic destination, and Taipei as the leading international choice.
“We’re proud to have started the year strong with an 85 percent load factor, 80 percent of which comprises domestic travelers. This strong performance signals positive growth for local tourism,” AirAsia Philippines communications and corporate affairs head First Officer Steve Dailisan said.
“We remain focused on supporting this through initiatives like the AirAsia Fiesta Series and and promotional campaigns tied to local festivals, encouraging Filipinos to explore and take part in the cultural festivities across the country, alongside our usual double-digit and P1SO sales”,” he said.
To sustain the strong momentum in international travel, AirAsia has increased flight frequencies on several key routes.
Flights to Kota Kinabalu have been upgraded from three times weekly to a daily service (7x weekly). Beginning July 1, flights to Taipei will also increase from 14 to 17 times weekly.
These adjustments are designed to enhance connectivity and offer greater flexibility for both leisure and business travelers.

As part of its commitment to reinvigorate travel among Filipinos, AirAsia recently launched over 400,000 promo seats to boost travel during the late summer and off-peak seasons.
Travelers can book one-way base fares for as low as P185 to favorite island destinations including Boracay (via Caticlan), Kalibo, Bohol (Tagbilaran), and Puerto Princesa until June 1, 2025.
The travel period runs from May 5 to Oct. 31, 2025, perfect for spontaneous getaways or early planning for less crowded adventures.
