Globe Telecom is increasing its efforts to make reliable, high-speed internet accessible to more Filipino households by focusing on both fiber and 5G technologies to deliver affordable, flexible and high-quality connectivity nationwide.
“Connectivity is an enabler of progress,” said Carl Cruz, Globe president and chief executive.
“By expanding our network infrastructure, we are unlocking access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities for millions of Filipinos. Globe remains steadfast in working with industry partners and the government to ensure inclusive digital access,” he said.
The company’s GFiber Prepaid service is designed to appeal to households that prefer services without contracts or large upfront payments, offering a simple plug-and-play setup, reloadable options and management through the GlobeOne app. Globe reports that most users reload every three to four weeks.
The service has a high Net Promoter Score, indicating customer satisfaction with both speed and the overall prepaid fiber experience.
Globe is also expanding reload options through partnerships with AMAX and ECPay.
In addition to fiber, Globe is pushing its 5G WiFi through Fixed Wireless Access, which allows for fast, reliable internet in areas where fiber is not practical, particularly in underserved communities.
The company said this approach also helps to reduce traffic on its mobile network, improving overall service quality.
Looking ahead to 2025, Globe has outlined plans to expand access, deepen engagement and enhance customer experience for both new and existing users.
Globe is also working to bridge the digital divide in remote areas, aiming to bring fiber connectivity to 100 more Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas.
By the end of 2025, the company plans to increase the number of cell sites in these areas from 600 to 700.
By prioritizing customer-focused innovations and investing in both fiber and 5G technologies, Globe aims to improve connectivity for more Filipino families.
