The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Philippine Franchise Association (PFA) signed a three-year memorandum of understanding (MOU) on April 30, 2025, to implement the NxtGen in Franchising Philippines program from 2025 to 2027.
The initiative will equip micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with tools, resources, and sustained support to help them grow through the franchising model.
The partnership is a shared commitment to expanding entrepreneurial opportunities, particularly in underserved communities.
Under the MOU, PFA will design and manage the program, engaging mentors, industry experts, and partners to guide participants, while also leading nationwide promotions through social media, email campaigns.
It will also deliver training, workshops, and mentoring sessions.
On the other hand, the DTI-ROG will leverage its regional network to nominate candidates and promote the program through its channels.
It will also contribute data, expertise, and industry links to help broaden the program’s reach.
Both agencies emphasized that activities will align with their mandates, available resources, and government regulations, underscoring a commitment to transparency and effective collaboration.
The partnership seeks to nurture a new wave of franchisors and franchisees, spur job creation, and support inclusive economic growth under the Bagong Pilipinas agenda.
