Bus firm involved in SCTEX accident stops entire operations

Pangasinan Solid North Transit, Inc. (PSNTI) said it has stopped its whole operations in compliance with the directive of the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

The bus company’s move came after one of its buses was involved in yesterday’s tragic road crash on the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway on May 1, 2025.

“For its patrons, unless otherwise provided, all trips of PSNTI are temporarily suspended.,” the bus operator said.

PSTNI also said that affected advance bookings may request for their respective cancellations.

“We are one with the Nation in sympathizing with those affected by this unfortunate event. As a bus operator, we’ve always strived in continuously providing the best for our passengers,” PSTNI said.

“However, some uncontrollable factors get even the best of us that lead to this isolated case,” it added.

PSTNI said it understands the gravity of the situation, and “we will be responsible and accountable for it.”

Dizon earlier suspended the entire fleet of PSTNI for 30 days while the investigation is ongoing.

He also instructed the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to file criminal charges against the bus driver and the bus company.

To prevent similar incidents, the transport chief ordered a thorough review of existing road safety protocols and directed bus companies to ensure their drivers are fit to drive.
