DOE endorses eleven power projects for NGCP system impact study

The Department of Energy (DOE) has endorsed to the grid operator National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) 11 energy projects for system impact study last month.

“In March 2025. the DOE issued 11 SIS endorsements, which are composed of three amendments and eight new applications,” the DOE said.

The SIS will determine the capacity of the power grid to accommodate additional capacities and identify necessary improvements needed such as transmission lines, transformers or substationsThis includes the 1,200 megawatt combined cycle gas turbine power plant of Batangas Clean Energy Inc. in Batangas.

Other endorsed projects includes the 300 MW Kidlat solar project of TP Azimuth 8 Corp. in Leyte, 12 MW solar project of Iloilo Power Corp. in Dumangas, Iloilo and the 30 MW battery energy storage system of Solana Energy Solutions Hermosa, Inc. in Bataan.

The DOE likewise endorsed the 200 MW wind project of San Nicolas Wind Corp. in Nueva Ecija, 512 MW Ilosong wind project of Ilosong Wind Corp. in Quezon province, 136 MW Bukidnon wind project of Northman Renewables Corp., and two 24.28 MW BESS projects of The Ark Green Dynamic Resources Corp. in Misamis Oriental and Iloilo province.

The 36.139 MW PAVI Green San Vicente solar project of PAVI Green Camnorte Renewable Energy Inc. in Camarines Norte and the 368 MW Haraya omshore wind project of Haraya Wind Energy Corp. in Zambales were also endorsed for the conduct of SIS by NGCP.
