Friendship association pushes stronger Manila-Guangzhou ties

The Manila-Guangzhou Friendship Association, led by its chairman Daniel Nobleza, extended its warm congratulations to the newly elected Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.

In his statement, Nobleza praised the overwhelming mandate received by the returning mayor, describing it as a strong endorsement of the reforms implemented during Moreno’s last term.

“The results reflect the people’s recognition of his accomplishments. Under his leadership, Manila experienced record-high business growth, driven by strategic tax reforms and technological investments,” said Nobleza.

He said Moreno embodies qualities admired by many Filipinos—charismatic appeal, a humble rags-to-riches background, and a strong connection with ordinary citizens.

Nobleza expressed confidence that Moreno would continue his reforms over the next three years and strengthen economic and cultural exchanges between the sister cities, Manila and Guangzhou.

He also underscored the importance of strengthening economic and cultural ties between Manila and its sister city Guangzhou.

Nobleza recalled his recent visit to Guangzhou, where he met with Philippine Consul General Iric Arribas and officials from Guangzhou’s Foreign Affairs Office.

He said the Chinese officials conveyed a strong desire to deepen cooperation with Manila in areas such as trade, investment, education, and cultural exchange.

“With continued leadership and international collaboration, Manila is well-positioned to thrive in the coming years,” he said.
