Filipino Gen Z prioritizes durable smartphones, reliable after-sales support

Young consumers in the Philippines are increasingly choosing smartphones not only for performance and entertainment but also for durability and strong after-sales support, according to Samsung.

With a growing reliance on digital tools for productivity, content creation, and daily tasks, many young buyers are now seeking devices that can withstand long-term use and are backed by dependable customer service.

Samsung said that beyond initial performance, Gen Z customers prioritize a seamless ownership experience, including easy access to product support. The company’s after-sales channels include a 24/7 live chat service, customer hotlines, a presence on Viber, and access through the Samsung Members app. Self-help guides are also available online.

To address concerns over device longevity, Samsung said its Galaxy line now receives up to seven generations of operating system updates and security patches. The tech company also offers Samsung Care+, a protection service covering accidental and liquid damage with unlimited repairs and one device replacement per year for up to two years.

Samsung Care+ can be availed upon device purchase or within 30 days afterward, either in-store or through samsung.com. Coverage extends nationwide through Samsung’s authorized service centers.

The move comes as younger Filipinos increasingly seek added value in tech purchases, with convenience and reliability playing key roles in their decision-making.
