“We apologize to everyone who got offended, triggered, or hurt in the actions seen in the said video. We can assure you that no minor, or anyone, was hurt physically, mentally, sexually, or in any manner,” he wrote.

He also emphasized that the actions shown in the short clip did not reflect their values and were never intended to cause harm. Shawn admitted that the group involved had crossed a line with their joke.

“Inaamin po namin na mali kami in so many ways with that joke. Masyado po kaming naging komportable at masaya sa mga ginagawa/sinasabi namin,” said Shawn.

“Hindi po magandang biro ‘yun, especially sa kung paano siya nakita sa nasabing video,” he continued.

Shawn also thanked those who called out their behavior and said the incident had been a wake-up call.

“Natuto na po kami sa mga ito at hindi na po ito mauulit. Alam din po namin na hindi ito maliit na issue, kaya we take accountability and responsibility for everything that was done,” he added.

On May 7, a video was shared widely on X, showing him and GAT member Ethan David making crude motions as a joke while in conversation with the group, followed by laughter. In the video, BINI’s leader Jhoanna was seen, while fellow members Stacey and Colet could be heard in the background.

His apology came after BINI and Ethan issued their statements, taking full responsibility for their actions.
