Frankie Pangilinan, daughter of senatorial candidate Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan and singer-actress Sharon Cuneta, has reached out to local government officials through handwritten letters in a bid to help her father’s campaign ahead of the national elections.
The 24-year-old singer-songwriter, also known as Kakie, penned a letter addressed to mayors across the country, describing herself as a private citizen and student preparing to graduate from college. In the note, she expressed support for her father’s candidacy and underscored his longtime advocacy for food security and support for Filipino farmers.
“As I compose this message… I have a real passion for the handwritten in this age of digital impermanence,” she wrote, adding that the gesture was a sincere effort to connect with public officials.
Kakie described her father as a humble and consistent public servant who has been subject to repeated “smear campaigns.” She shared personal anecdotes, including how he shops for groceries, wears decades-old clothing, and has used the same watch and wallet for years.
She said the campaign lacks a “political machinery” or “billion-peso budget,” but highlighted her father’s long-standing work in agriculture and his quiet approach to public service.
“Should we succeed, you now have a most assured promise that we will support your local programs and whatever else you may need in the years to come,” she wrote. “Please help us carry his dream forward—for the future of our meal tables, for the dignity and protection of our farmers and fisherfolk.”
Kiko Pangilinan previously served as senator and has been vocal about agricultural issues in his public career.
