When authenticity is your best skincare

For actress Janine Gutierrez, confidence starts with feeling comfortable in your  own skin. At a recent Nivea event, she spoke about how taking care of her skin helps her feel more like herself—on and off camera.

Held under the theme “Skin You Can Believe In,” the Skin Haus experience gathered digital creators, influencers, and brand advocates for a closer look at Nivea’s latest skincare innovations.

The event underscored the brand’s approach to working with the skin, not just treating it, and introduced the Nivea Circle of Trust—a group of ambassadors who embody self-care, individuality, and authenticity.

“Skin is for owning every frame, every close-up,” said Gutierrez, who described her personal skincare routine as simple and consistent.

“I’m super low-intensity, lazy-girl routine. That’s what works best for me, so I’m so happy, because honestly, this is just my skincare routine. I just use the Nivea Luminous 630. Two steps in the morning, two steps at night. That’s it,” she shared.

She added that, especially during summer, she prefers to keep things light and natural.

“I don’t really like wearing makeup if I don’t have work. I associate makeup with work, so when I’m off, I want to go barefaced. Skincare is important because when I do the self-care in that way, I feel confident even without makeup,” she said.

Despite a busy schedule, Gutierrez said she tries to stay grounded and focused on what matters—being real.

“What’s most important is to be authentic. You don’t have to fit into a traditional standard of beauty. That’s honestly what I love about Nivea, they really empower you to be authentically you. And I look up to Gen Z for that, because they live by it,” she added.
