Filipino talents make their mark at World of Dance Italy 2025

Filipino dancers took the spotlight at this year’s World of Dance Italy, bringing home top awards across multiple categories in the competition held from April 25 to 27 in Rome.

In the Junior Division, 17-year-old Andrew Magahis took first place in the solo category, while 24-year-old Kyle Portugal was named Crowd Favorite in the K-pop Division for his standout performance.

Three Pinoy-led crews also left their mark in the Team Division, which featured 34 groups.

Barkada, a group based in Northern Italy, earned third place after impressing judges with a modern twist on the traditional tinikling. The crew is led by brothers Patrick and Gabrielle.

Also making waves were LD New Code, choreographed by Kevin Castillo, and Hermes Crew, an all-Filipino team from Rome led by Allen Gunda and Jeff Creus.

World of Dance Italy is the country’s leg of the international competition that gathers top dance talents from around the globe.
