Mindanao leaders back Erwin Tulfo in May

Governors from BARMM, Northern and South-Central Mindanao, and Zamboanga del Norte have endorsed LAKAS-CMD senatorial candidate Erwin Tulfo for the May 12 elections. They cited Tulfo’s track record of helping Mindanao communities, particularly during his tenure as Social Welfare Secretary.

Sultan Kudarat Governor Pax Ali Mangudadatu said Tulfo provided timely aid during calamities without needing to be asked. He added that his mother, Maguindanao del Sur Gov. Mariam Mangudadatu, also supports Tulfo for his swift response during past disasters.

Sulu Governor Abdusakar Tan praised Tulfo’s consistent presence in the province, saying he offered help even when there were no emergencies. Tan noted Tulfo’s deep ties to the region, as his family once lived in Sulu.

Dipolog City Mayor Roberto Uy, now running for Zamboanga del Norte governor, said Tulfo’s election would ensure Mindanao is not left behind. He pointed out that Tulfo, though based in Manila and Palawan, has roots in Davao Oriental.

Tulfo and his fellow Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas candidates had earlier gained endorsements from leaders in Misamis Oriental and Misamis Occidental.
