SM Prime Holdings has begun construction on SMXCITE, a new international exhibition center in Pasay City set to become the Philippines’ largest under the SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation (SMHCC) portfolio.
Located within the SM Mall of Asia Complex and directly across from the SM MOA Arena, SMXCITE will add over 18,000 square meters of leasable trade hall space when completed in early 2027. The new venue will double the capacity of SMX Convention Center Manila, bringing the combined total to more than 35,000 square meters of exhibition space.
The project was formally launched in a groundbreaking ceremony led by SMHCC president Elizabeth T. Sy, SM Engineering Design and Development Corp. president Hans Sy Jr., SMHCC executive vice president Peggy Angeles, and SMHCC senior vice president for operations Walid Wafik.
SMXCITE will house five exhibition halls, four meeting rooms, and two VIP lounges. The venue is designed to accommodate over 18,000 guests and up to 803 standard 3×3-meter booths. It will also feature energy-efficient and eco-friendly infrastructure aligned with SMX Manila’s sustainability benchmarks.
Once completed, SMXCITE will boost SMX Convention Center’s nationwide leasable footprint to nearly 60,000 square meters, spanning locations in Manila, Taguig, Mandaluyong, Clark, Olongapo, Bacolod, Cebu, and Davao.

SM Prime’s latest development aims to strengthen Metro Manila’s role as a key destination in Southeast Asia’s growing MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) industry.
