Steakhouse owner Wolfgang Zwiener dies at 85

Wolfgang Zwiener, the founder of Wolfgang’s Steakhouse passed away on Friday, Jan. 23, at the age of 85.

In an announcement, Wolfgang Steakhouse Philippines paid tribute to steakhouse owner.

“We send our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Wolfgang Zwiener, who passed away on January 23rd in Hawaii at the age of 85,” the statement read.

Zwiener is survived by his wife, Elena, and his sons, Steven and Peter.

“His humility, warmth, and kindness will be deeply missed. More than a businessman, he was a devoted husband and father. Our hearts go out to Elena, his wife, his sons Steven and Peter, and all his business partners and associates who mourn his loss,” it continued.

Zwiener, who opened his first Wolfgang’s Steakhouse location on Park Avenue in New York City in 2004, built a globally recognized brand with more than 40 locations worldwide. With over six decades of experience in the restaurant business, his vision and dedication to excellence helped shape the high-end steakhouse dining experience.

“Mr. Zwiener’s impact extended beyond his family, touching the lives of everyone he encountered, including us here in the Philippines. We will cherish the beautiful memories he leaves behind and strive to uphold his legacy of genuine hospitality in the F&B industry,” the post stated.
