The Review
When nubia announced its new Neo 3 series recently in the Philippines, the local gaming community understandably took notice. In the world of gamers, after all, everybody’s on the lookout for the right device for them to compete.
The nubia Neo 3 series is casted with three phones — budget-friendly but never wanting in features. There’s the base Neo 3 4G, the Neo 3 5G, and the Neo 3 GT. MS Tech, Mobility and Trends grabbed the Neo 3 5G to try and play.
Out of the Bumblebee-inspired box is a promising device powered by a Unisoc T8300 SoC and paired with 8GB of RAM, a large 6,000mAh battery and a battle-ready dual shoulder triggers.
If looks could kill, the Neo 3 5G is a sniper. The phone’s back has a mecha-inspired textured design, a glossy back with the flat edges matte finished. Then there’s the Neo 3 5G’s light module that lights up at the back forbthat high-end appeal . The light glows red when performance boost mode is on and glows green during full charge. It sports a 6.8-inch FHD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate.
We find the Neo 3 5G’s LCD screen well and good for binge-watching, of fairly vibrant colors. Sound quality of line speaker at the bottom is quite decent.
Out first game-on spin of the Neo 3 5G is well above par. The Unisoc T8300 chipset performed well. This device, we must say, is a a fighter when squaring off with League of Legends: Wild Rift and Call of Duty: Mobile, and we had fun playing Genshin Impact.
The Neo 3 5G is a legit shooter, with a 50MP main + 2MP depth sensor rear camera setup, plus a 16MP selfie camera. It can do battles even at night, photos are surprisingly good we found out.
The Neo 3 5G runs Android 15 with MyOS 15 UI. The large 6,000mAh battery lasts for a day and a half on a single charge. By the way, it has a 33W fast charger that could tip 100% in an hour.
Well, we can’t just play away our days as we need to work to earn. But with the Nubia Neo 3 5G priced at less that P10k with all its killer capabilities, it’s a crime to simply overlook it.
