This Mother’s Day, choose a leader who cares like a mom

“Mother’s Day is coming, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned as a mom, it’s that we should say ‘I love you’ — but it means so much more when we show it through our actions,” shared Mayor Honey Lacuna, as she looked ahead to Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 11.

For many Manileños, Mayor Honey Lacuna is more than just a leader — she has become a mother figure to the city. A leader who cares, takes quick action, manages resources wisely, and maintains discipline.

A LEADER WHO GETS THINGS DONE

Manila 2nd District Congressman Rolan Valeriano emphasized Mayor Honey’s impact on Manila:

“Under Mayor Honey’s leadership, we have seen tangible results — from healthcare improvements to infrastructure and social services. She is the only mayor who established the first university campus in Tondo, providing young Manileños with new opportunities for a better future.”

“Mayor Honey also initiated the Kalinga sa Maynila program, bringing essential services directly to barangays, and personally listens to the concerns of Manileños through People’s Day,” Valeriano added.

REAL CHANGE, REAL RESULTS

Manila 3rd District Congressman Joel Chua highlighted Mayor Honey’s achievements in housing and economic growth:

“Through the Land for the Landless Program, nearly a thousand land titles have been awarded to Manileños — more than 18 times the 52 titles given by the previous administration.”

“And because of her leadership, Manila’s economy has reached a P1 trillion economic output. A stronger economy means more jobs, better services, and a brighter future for Manileños.”

MOTHER’S LOVE IN ACTION

For Dra. Giselle Maceda, who has worked closely with Mayor Honey, the proof of true leadership is clear.

“I saw it with my own eyes. During the pandemic, Mayor Honey was there — making sure our hospitals were ready, that Manileños had access to healthcare, and that we were protected. That’s not just leadership — that’s a mother’s love in action.”

Mayor Honey, who is also a licensed doctor, personally led Manila’s COVID-19 vaccination efforts. She coordinated the procurement of vaccines and supervised the city’s vaccination program, ensuring Manileños were safe from the pandemic.

PROVEN PERFORMANCE: REAL RESULTS FOR MANILA

Mayor Honey’s accomplishments are not just promises — they are well-documented achievements that have directly benefited the people of Manila:

A LEADER WHO DOES MORE WITH LESS

Unlike past administrations that plunged Manila into debt, Mayor Honey managed the city’s finances wisely — achieving all these results without burdening Manileños with new loans.

“We achieved all this while paying off billions in debt left by the previous administration, without selling any city assets,” Mayor Honey emphasized.

“Leadership is about responsibility, not just popularity. It’s about delivering real, meaningful change for the people you serve,” she added.

As Mother’s Day approaches, many Manileños are seeing that what their city needs is a leader who cares, who protects, and who acts — like a true mother.

And that is Mayor Honey Lacuna.
