Robert Bolick came through in the clutch to lift the NLEX Road Warriors to an 80-72 victory over the Blackwater Bossing on Friday in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Bolick scored 20 points, with 10 coming in the pivotal fourth quarter, as NLEX secured its third consecutive win and improved to a 3-1 record.
“Blackwater’s defense really challenged us and threw us off our rhythm. Credit to Berto’s big game,” said Road Warriors head coach Jong Uichico, praising Bolick’s performance.
The tide turned in NLEX’s favor after Blackwater lost key player Christian David to an injury in the second quarter. Without David, the Bossing struggled to contain NLEX’s offense in the final period.
Bolick took full advantage, igniting a fourth-quarter run that gave NLEX a 62-52 lead midway through the period—a cushion they held onto until the final buzzer.
